Right now, we only have the possibility to enter these pricing markups for each customer in Generic prices one by one, which is time consuming. Right now Appxite support does is on the backend for us per customer, which is also time consuming for them and not visible to us under customer details.
Can you investigate the possibilities of adding that markup to a whole customer/sub reseller segment? With these sub resellers that would save us all a lot of time.
Merits of segment-based pricing are clear indeed, but we found this approach to be insufficiently specific for pricing towards end-customers. Trying to offer tender-based or otherwise tailored pricing via segments would would produce unsustainable number of segment permutations. We decided against it for now.
I believe if there's a "dominating" segment with majority of customers, you can set up their prices as prices for all customers. This would leave fewer exceptions to make for other customers outside of the dominating segment. This is where imports can help copy-paste prices between them much quicker.
Another tip if you don't like to keep the import file for repeated use, you can quickly export existing price settings for any customer from Pricelist report. With a few transformations, you'll quickly prepare it to be imported for another customer.
Have you tried these things before? Does any of this help help cut down the time further? If I misunderstood your setup or what you're trying to do, please tell me more and we'll think what we can do together.
I'll be happy to hear back on this!
Igor
Hi Igor,
Great news and it looks good from our side!
One additional question:
Can you aslo add the custom price setup fields to customer segments?
Reason:
With our sub-resellers we make a special customer segment for them and place all their own customers under there.
That way we can set them up with their own catalog and it makes invoicing much easier.
We usually agree to a certain uplift/discount for all Microsoft products fo all tehir customers.
I would again save time and effort if we can sat that up on the customer segment levels.
That way if we add a new customer, they would automatically have the right pricing :).
Great news, we have just shipped this: https://support.appxite.com/hc/en-us/articles/12970076496540-Release-Notes-163
Hope this helps!
Igor
@Igor, these imports would not serve Jelle's needs.
The All customers import affects all the customers, while the Specific customers import does not allow for selecting the Cost as the PriceSource for applying the markup
Hi Igor,
Thank you for your reply.
We have looked into it but this solution unfortunately does not serve our purpose.
We do this now via a Service Request with Oleg Shtinnikov. He can tell you all the insides to how he does it for us momently.
Also, i would be happy to clarify our needs via Teams call with you and Oleg. Maybe we can come up with a solution that would suit more partners in the future.
Kind regars,
Jelle
Hi Jelle,
While we are considering various ways to simplify a way prices are maintained, I believe our bulk-import can already help a lot: https://support.appxite.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009613440-How-to-Import-prices-for-customers-
Have you or your partners tried it? What has been your experience with it?
Thanks.
Igor
